Focus on marketing
‘I began my career in the FMCG sector (Northern Foods, Fox’s Biscuits, Northern Dairies) and then gained experience in business to business marketing, specifically in the construction sector (Perstorp Warerite, now owned by Formica).
Through this varied experience, I gained an all-round, 360 degree perspective of marketing. As a member of international marketing teams, I worked on everything from new product development, research and strategy, to turning the theory into reality by developing and delivering marketing communications.
When I set up Freelance Marketing, I had an opportunity to build a business from the ground upwards, which has given me an appreciation of the challenges faced by smaller businesses.
When clients say they need help with ‘marketing,’ I ask them to define what they really mean. Often they list ‘brochures’, ‘advertising’ and ‘PR’, the promotional and communications side of marketing. While Freelance Marketing can certainly meet these needs, where we really add value to your marketing activity is by helping you to strip right back to basics and question what makes your company different from the rest – its ‘Unique Selling Point’ or USP. We also help you assess whether your proposed strategy reflects the needs of each customer segment, and identify potential new customer groups.
Freelance Marketing has extensive experience in all aspects of marketing, from research and planning to communications – a 360 degree approach which can help make your marketing more effective.
